Placement Method

Step 1

Locate studs in the wall with the stud finder. Draw an "X" over each stud. Hold the rack horizontally against the wall to know if you need to mark more than two studs.

Step 2

Position the bottom piece of the cue rack against the wall, using the level to make sure it is horizontal. The bottom piece of the cue rack should be no more than 30 inches above the floor. If it is too high, the ceiling may end up with chalk marks from the cues.

Step 3

Screw the bottom cue rack piece to the wall. Double check with the level to make sure it's horizontal.

Step 4

Measure the length of a pool cue. Subtract 8 inches from that measurement and position the top piece of the cue rack at that height above the bottom piece. Use the level to make sure it is horizontal as well as directly above the bottom piece. Hold the level perpendicular to the ends of both rack pieces. This helps ensure the top piece is directly over the bottom and also ensures the cues are held vertically. Screw the top piece to the wall at this position.
